We all know smoking is bad- particularly combusted tobacco leaf. The chemical reactions that take place when you burn tobacco leaves creates all kinds of poisons. It’s not the nicotine that will kill you, it’s the TAR and CARCINOGENS from smoking. Nicotine is a mild stimulant/relaxant on par with caffeine.
Vaping is an effective Tobacco Harm Reduction tool. No burning, no smoke, no “2nd hand” anything. Public Policy is not based on the science.
I grew up with heavy smokers. I started smoking in middle school. After wrangling my adult life with chronic health issues, quitting smoking was on top of that list. I hadn’t heard about e-cigs until I saw someone using one in the spring of 2011. I immediately went to the convenience store she went to and started my vape journey that day.
The cig-alike pre-filled cartridges were pricey and didn’t satisfy enough to give up smoking completely. So, I started researching online and discovered eGO/pen style vaping devices and kept learning all I could about it. Once I got to using decent eGo’s with refillable tanks and replaceable atomizers, I quit smoking for good!
It’s been a difficult journey to get professionals and vendors on board to stand up to the disinformation and demonization of nicotine users. We are on the verge of regulatory rules that will set back vaping tech to 2007 levels. Think about it: What kind of mobile phone or computer were you using in 2007? What if that was the only model you were ever allowed to use and never upgrade?
The Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives Association (CASAA) is a non-profit 501(c)(4) organization with an all-volunteer board and a grassroots membership of more than two hundred thousand individuals from all walks of life, and we are growing daily. We are a consumer organization, not a trade association. We are dedicated to ensuring the availability of reduced harm alternatives to smoking and to providing smokers and non-smokers alike with honest information about those alternatives so that they can make informed choices.
The Right to be Smoke-Free Coalition is a non-profit, industry-led trade association of e-vapor businesses dedicated to promoting the interests of the industry by advocating for reasonable and responsible laws and regulations, and fighting for the right of vapers to be smoke-free.
The Right to be Smoke-Free Coalition works with expert legal counsel and the broader industry to develop comprehensive litigation strategies to challenge unlawful Federal and State Laws and Regulations. Our current activities and information will be updated periodically. To join the fight please contribute to become a member of the Coalition.
Our Coalition is positioned to enforce and defend the industry, and we need your help. Lawsuits of these nature are costly and we expect vigorous defense against our efforts. If you are an industry advocate, e-liquid producer, device manufacturer, vape shop owner or internet retailer that believes in responsible and appropriate regulations, you can join the Coalition or contribute to the cause.
Wherever there is a battle that will impact consumer choice and the ability of businesses to sell reduced harm products, the American Vaping Association (AVA) is there to help.
Since beginning operations in early-2014, the AVA has emerged as one of the most vocal voices arguing for fair and sensible policy towards vapor products and electronic cigarettes. The AVA has not been shy to identify and criticize those trying to destroy the growing vaping industry, whether they be governmental agencies or health activist groups.
Gregory Conley, who serves as the President of the AVA, is the most quoted person in the U.S. news media on vaping news and policy. For a sample of the work AVA has done in the media, please see our Press Room.
The AVA also provides significant support to national, state, and local nonprofits that are fighting to ensure vapor products remain available for adult smokers and ex-smokers.
